Job Description

Carries out recommended updates to the service life-cycle including patching and point releases upgrades. Configures IT systems and executes basic changes while following standard operating procedures and change/release management policies. Drafts technical and end-user documentation for specific IT service or set of services. Monitors specific IT service or set of services for availability and performance and reports anomalies through predefined processes. Expert in various Cisco and Juniper network devices and services which includes routers, switches, MPLS, Fortigate firewall, VPN. Installation, configuration, and very strong troubleshooting experience in Cisco and juniper devices Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations. Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning. NOC Responsibilities Location ISP troubleshooting. Work with non-technical staff to troubleshoot location ISP issues. Open tickets with ISP Carrier and escalate when necessary. Monitor multiple dashboards on a regular basis. Check for alerts, perform basic troubleshooting, diagnosis, and analysis. Eliminate false positives and escalate real issues to corresponding teams via a ticketing system. Able to follow verbal and written instructions, SOPs. Able to maintain a fluent English conversation with other company employees, both verbally and written. Able to work different varying shifts and schedules to be able to provide 24 x 7 coverage as needed per the department. Basic Helpdesk Support when needed, use of Ticketing system, answer phone calls, account unlocks, password resets, alerts, etc. Problem Solving Manages telecommunications network - including the LAN, WAN, MPLS environments. Supports SSL VPN, Firewall, and Network Switches. Hand on experience in installing, configuring troubleshooting multiple products on Cisco and juniper devices Represent network operations function related queries for all changes management. Experience in using network management tools for performance tuning, troubleshooting and capacity planning Job Specific Knowledge In-depth understanding of and experience with Fortigate Firewall LAN/WAN and adept knowledge on routing and switching which including BGP, MPLS, VPN. Advanced experience with cisco and juniper routers, switches, and LAN/WAN equipment. Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools. Advanced troubleshooting skills in the area of LAN/WAN/Wireless infrastructure. Escalation point of contact for all Network Technologies.
